Terms of Service
The terms that apply when you hire MAZ Converts, written in plain language — not because we're avoiding specifics, but because clear is better than clever.
These terms apply to any project you hire MAZ Converts ("we," "us," "our") to complete, and to your use of mazconverts.com generally. By submitting a project inquiry, approving a proposal, or paying a deposit, you agree to the terms below. If anything here doesn't match what we've agreed to in writing for your specific project, the written proposal or contract takes priority.
Our Services
We design and build websites, and offer related services including SEO, AI visibility work, Shopify and e-commerce builds, custom app development, and hosting and integrations — see our services page for the full list. Every project starts with a scoped, fixed-price proposal in writing before any work begins. Verbal estimates aren't binding; the written proposal is.
Payment Terms
Most projects run on a straightforward split:
- 50% deposit due before work begins. This deposit is non-refundable once work has started, since it reserves our time and covers work already in progress.
- 50% balance due at launch, before the final site is transferred or made live on your domain.
Larger Signature-tier projects may instead run on a milestone schedule (for example, split across kickoff, a mid-project checkpoint, and launch) — this will be specified in your proposal. Invoices are due within 14 days unless otherwise agreed in writing. Overdue balances may be subject to a late fee of 1.5% per month.
Third-party costs — your domain registration, hosting plan, premium stock photography, or paid apps and plugins — are billed at cost and always quoted upfront. We never add these as a surprise line item.
Revisions
Each package includes a set number of revision rounds: one for Launch, two for Growth, and unlimited within the agreed scope for Signature. If you're not happy with the first design direction on any package, we'll revise the direction itself at no charge until it's right — that's separate from, and doesn't count against, your revision rounds. Requests that fall outside the agreed scope (new pages, new features, a different platform) are treated as a change order and quoted separately before we start on them.
Timeline
Typical timelines are 2 weeks for Launch, 5 weeks for Growth, and scoped individually for Signature projects, and will be confirmed in writing before work starts. Timelines depend on us receiving what we need from you on schedule — content, feedback, and approvals. Delays on your end may push the launch date back accordingly.
Ownership
Once a project is paid in full, the finished website, its code, and your domain belong to you. There's no ongoing license fee or lock-in required to keep your own site running. We may retain and reuse general design techniques, non-confidential methods, and code patterns developed during the project in future work for other clients.
Showcasing Your Work
We'd like to feature completed projects in our portfolio and marketing. We'll always ask your permission before publicly featuring your site as a case study — if you'd rather we didn't, just let us know and we'll leave it out.
Cancellation
You can cancel a project at any time by telling us in writing. If you cancel after work has begun, the deposit is retained to cover work already completed, and you'll be billed for any additional milestone work finished up to the cancellation date. We reserve the right to pause or end a project if payment is significantly overdue or communication stalls for an extended period.
Limitation of Liability
We build every site carefully, but we can't guarantee specific business outcomes — traffic, rankings, or sales depend on many factors outside our control, including your market, offer, and ongoing marketing. Our liability for any claim related to a project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project. We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost data.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of [Your State/Country] — update this line to reflect where your business is legally based before launch.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision. Changes won't apply retroactively to a project already under a signed proposal.
